Newsmakers with Tim Bryant
Tim talks with the people who make news in Athens and around the state. The Newsmaker hour follows the 9 o'clock news each Tuesday through Friday, with occasional rebroadcasts on Sundays.
Newsmaker Wednesday featured Washington correspondent Jamie Dupree, reporting from this week's Democratic Convention in Denver. We talked with Valdosta State University historian and author Harold D. Williams, and with Athens State Rep Keith Heard. And we heard from Chris Blair, radio voice for the Georgia Southern University football team.
Congressman Paul Broun is a guest on Newsmaker Thursday. We'll hear again from Washington correspondent Jamie Dupree in Denver, and from Georgia Democratic delegate Keith Mason. And we'll talk with Bob Taylor in the UGa Alumni Association.
Jamie Dupree will wrap up his convention reporting from Denver on Newsmaker Friday.
Next week's Newsmaker Tuesday will feature a preview of Tuesday night's Athens-Clarke County Commission meeting, and Jamie Dupree will join us from the GOP Convention in St. Paul.
Tim began his radio career in Bainbridge Georgia in 1988, after completing a stint at the National Journalism Center in Washington DC. Subsequent stops on the dial include Augusta, Tallahassee, and Atlanta. Tim has also worked as a correspondent for ABC and the Associated Press, and provided commentary for the BBC and Radio New Zealand.
