Elbert Citizens Trying To Stop Plant
A GROUP OF CITIZENS IS TRYING TO STOP THE ELBERT COUNTY COMMISSION FROM VOTING TONIGHT ON A PRIVATE COMPANY'S PROPOSAL TO BUILD A CONTROVERSIAL WASTE-TO-ENERGY INCINERATOR NEAR ELBERTON. EVEN IF ELBERT COMMISSIONERS GIVE THE PROJECT THEIR O-K, THE COMPANY WOULD NEED A DOZEN FEDERAL AND STATE WATER, AIR AND SOLID WASTE PERMITS BEFORE IT COULD START BUILDING.
