Today is the last day of Fall Semester classes at the University of Georgia. Final exams begin Wednesday, with Fall Semester commencement exercises set for December 18. Today is also the last day for free H1N1 vaccinations for University of Georgia students: the shots and nasal mist vaccines for Swine Flu are available from 10 til 3 at the Tate Student Center.

The University of Georgia Health Center offers H1N1 flu vaccinations this week: shots and nasal spray will be available tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday at the Health Center and for two days next week at the Tate Center. The swine flu vaccines are for University students, their spouses, and their family members, with priority status for children, pregnant women, and health care providers.

The Clarke County Health Department says flu vaccines are available at local health offices, out about a month earlier than in normal flu seasons: that's because health officials are anticipating an H1N1 flu vaccine next month. The flu shots that are available now are for the "normal" seasonal flu, and are recommended for most people ages 6 months and older.

Parents of Clarke County children are getting letters this week: Clarke County School Superintendent Phil Lanoue is writing about H1N1, saying there has been an increase in the number of students who are sick, but he says not many have been confirmed stricken with the so-called Swine Flu. The letter advises parents whose children have flu-like symptoms to keep the kids at home until they recover and are no longer contagious.
